At OceanGrace Dental, we are committed to providing only the best dental care possible

General Dentistry

Keeping up with dental hygiene is an important part of overall health. The Canadian Dental Association recommends you have a professional dental examination and cleaning every six months. The team at OceanGrace Dental are here to help, with regularly scheduled cleanings for all ages.

Our practice is client-focused, and aims to create a safe, professional environment where you can feel at ease. We also offer a wide range of services; from orthodontics, implant restoration, and oral surgery, all performed in one convenient location. We optionally offer oral sedation for our patients that require it to feel more comfortable with their procedures.

General Dentistry Services We Offer

Dental Exams

Dr. Longchamps will look for signs of gum disease, tooth decay, and other health concerns. X-rays may be taken, to help identify issues further below the surface.

Fillings

If you have been diagnosed with a cavity, we will provide treatment to restore that cavity. Under local anesthesia, we will remove the decay and restore the tooth with a composite (white filling) or amalgam (if you require it). Fillings are still the best way to restore a tooth affected by decay. They have a lifespan of 7-10 years.

Teeth Cleaning

Your dental hygienist will check for cavities and examine any fillings you may have. Next, they will check for periodonal disease or bone loss. Finally, they will clean, floss and polish your teeth, and apply fluoride.

Periodontal Treatment

Periodontitis is an affliction of the gums where bacteria in the plaque gets under one's gums and creates inflammation as well as bone loss. We provide surgical and non-surgical treatment for this condition. Non-surgical treatment involves scaling and root planing under local anesthesia, a thorough ultrasonic cleaning and irrigation with chlorhexidine. Surgical options include pocket reduction, gingivectomy and gum grafts.
